Well I'm new to the community as well as writing Fanfiction in the Final Fantasy VII realm. I'm really actually pretty uncertain on how I would like to approach this. I know the keypoints of the plot but I have a problem, my writing when it comes to grammar and punctuation.    I'm in the process of writing the Prologue as we speak.    Besides the general editing, I'm in need of a Beta that is good at characterization and help me stay in character on my first Final Fantasy fic.

FF Series: FFVII (Post AC, Post DoC)
Title: In the Absence of Darkness
Characters(s)/Pairing(s): Cloud/Tifa, Barrett, Yuffie, Vincent, Cid, Caith, Red, Jenova, Sephiroth (maybe, not 100% sure), Kadaj, Yazoo, Loz, Lucretzia (possibly), Rufus Shinra, Rude, Reno, Elena, Tseng
Story Type: It will be multi-chaptered.
Summary: It is said for every decision, a parallel reality exists... And what if, some how, Shinra located an alternate Jenova and attempted to use her to control Heaven's Dark Harbinger?   Atleast, what still remains of her.

Hi everyone. New here, not new to Final Fantasy fiction (or doujinshi, as it actually turns out), I got wind of this comm from ff_epicfic.

In short I'm here because I desperately need (another) beta reader. I already have an excellent one, and I try to proofread my own stuff at least three times before it goes live, but invariably, something stupid ALWAYS gets through the first live run of any chapter of any of my stories.

Here is the relevant info for the current story that needs beta-ing:

FF Series: FFX / FFX-2
Title: Memento Vivere
Characters(s)/Pairing(s): Rikku/Old Auron (unrequited), Rikku/Young Auron (reciprocal?), Rikku/Gippal (unrequited), Braska/Rikku (unrequited), Jecht/His Alcohol (reciprocal!)
Story Type: chaptered, word count so far 82,000+, no pressing need to "BACK" beta done chapters though.
Summary: Sin is a memory, Vegnagun is scrap metal and a new era of peace has swept over Spira. It's not enough for Rikku, who is still waiting for her own story to begin. But what happens when her search brings her on a pilgrimage to the past... literally?
Notes/Warnings: So far 14 chapters of this are posted on FF.net. I already have one beta, but I am looking for another who will proof stuff I write not necessarily for grammar and spelling errors, but more for logic, plot continuity, and 'that's not a real verb' / 'that phrasing is redundant / you used the same adjective too many times' kind of thing.

The story involves time travel and the collective logic-migraine that always goes along with it, so since I'm looking for a logic-beta-er please be prepared to deal with that plot complication, too.

I also prefer to communicate via email, so please if you're interested, send me a line. Thanks in advance for any response!

Welcome to another Monday. :)

Read, Review, Recommend

Read a story lately and liked it, but didn't have time or couldn't think of anything to say as feedback? Now's your chance. Had a story on your reading list for awhile with no time to read it? Now's the time to jump in, and make sure to review when you're done. Don't have anything more to say than, "Hey, I liked this"? No problem. If you have the time or inclination to say more, go for it, but don't feel like you have to leave detailed feedback in order to participate. Part of the point of this exercise is to get used to the idea of leaving comments of any length.

The other point? Developing the recommendation habit. Once you've read and reviewed, if you want to share your find, come back and comment to this post with a link. No need to go into great detail here, either, although it would be helpful to give a title and say which fandom and whether it's worksafe. And then we'll have a rec list for everyone to check out.

So it's only been three months, let's do another one of these. Props to auronlu for the original idea.

Also, heyheyrenay and I were discussing this post (found via metafandom) and it brought up some issues about leaving feedback that inspired the following poll:
